10 Best Ice Climbs in New England

I was pretty sure he was talking about Rumney during rock season.

John, I agree. Standard definitely tops Cinema and maybe any individual climb on Willard. The nice thing about Willard is feeling like you've done multi pitch climbs without actually having to suffer through multi pitch belays.

As I was once told:

"Rumney is the best thing to happen to New Hampshire climbing"

and I am inclined to agree, really no crowds basically anywhere else, it is like fly paper down there

I think the Willard routes can be a better day, but I kind of like them more as link-ups, more like cragging... And I think this is really Willard at its best, so I could totally see Willard not making the list, because no thing is super great, but the whole thing is an awesome experience and place to go.

Standard is on my list for this season, and I feel like even though it is crowded it has a very important place in a New England Ice Climbers repertoire, but maybe that is just a personal feeling.
