Longstack Precipice

Looking for a great crag for a day trip? Look no further than Longstack Precipice. It's located in the lakes region of New Hampshire so it's only a little over 2 hours drive. It's only recently been developed (since 2011 mainly) and it doesn't have the crowds that so many other places do.

It's a trad climbing area for sure. There are bolts on some of the slabby routes, but the bolting isn't sporty.

There is a guidebook available from IME in North Conway. Some good info available at the Mountainproject Link.

Added bonus, it's south facing so it's a great spot for a warm early winter day!

If you go, don't miss the linkup of Layback Route to The Arete! It's a great climb and the exposure is hard to beat at the 5.9 grade. See this picture I took of it this fall. You traverse right from where the climber is and finish on the arete. :)
