Dirtbag: The Legend of Fred Beckey

I just saw the movie last night at MIT, and wow... A well made movie about an interesting character. If you have climbed in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, or British Columbia you have probably climbed, or at least thought about climbing a Fred Beckey route. The man was prolific, and obsessive. I honestly had a lot of feelings throughout the movie, Beckey's passion is contagious, but towards the end of the his life I think you start to see some of the more delusional and sad parts of being a lifelong alpinist come out. I found myself captured by his character. Also the animations were amazing.

Anyone have any opinions about the movie? Currently there are no more New England screenings, but if I see some coming up I will post, and maybe we can organize a showing when it comes out.

Here is the trailer:

RIP Fred
